A supreme delight has arisen in the hearts of the gods. Parvati's tapasya, Shiva's acceptance, and the restoration promised after Kama's burning have brought the long separated paths toward union.
They ask for the joy of direct witness. Let them behold with their own eyes the marriage of Mahadeva and the mountain born Goddess. No remembered description could equal that darshan.
The request is more than celestial curiosity. Creation itself longs to see consciousness and power joined in sacred form, the universal parents entering a marriage whose blessing will reach every realm.
The gods lift their joined hands and ask heaven for the sight of one earthly wedding.

सकल सुरन्ह के हृदयँ अस संकर परम उछाहु। निज नयनन्हि देखा चहहिं नाथ तुम्हार बिबाहु।।88।।
In the hearts of all the gods there arose supreme delight. They said: "O Lord, with our own eyes we long to behold your wedding. Grant us this joy!"
