Shiva speaks gently to Rati. From this day her husband will be known as Ananga, the one without limbs or body. Destruction has not removed desire from creation.
Freed from visible form, Kama will pervade all beings more subtly than before, moving unseen through the chambers of the heart. The ash upon the ground is not the end of his power.
Then Shiva promises reunion and begins to reveal the future circumstance in which Rati will meet him again. Compassion draws a bridge beyond the present separation. Her mourning now contains a distant appointment.
The body is ash, but Ananga rises invisibly within every living heart.

अब तें रति तव नाथ कर होइहि नामु अनंगु। बिनु बपु ब्यापिहि सबहि पुनि सुनु निज मिलन प्रसंगु।।87।।
Shiva spoke with gentleness: "Rati, from this day forward your husband shall be known as Ananga, the Bodiless One. Without a form, he will pervade all beings. Now hear when you and he shall be reunited."
