News of Sati's death reaches Shiva's attendants. Grief becomes fury, and the ganas surge into the sacrificial ground, tearing through the structures of a rite that had made contempt part of its order.

Altars crack, vessels overturn, and the assembly scatters before their wrath. What had appeared inviolable under mantra and rank suddenly reveals its fragility.

Seeing the yajna collapse, the sage Bhrigu acts. He kindles a protective rite against the advancing host, setting ritual power against the force released by Sati's death. The ritual has become a battlefield of consequence.

Broken offerings cover the earth as Bhrigu raises protection against Shiva's storm.

Read the passage from the Manas

सती मरनु सुनि संभु गन लगे करन मख खीस। जग्य बिधंस बिलोकि भृगु रच्छा कीन्हि मुनीस।।64।।

Hearing of Sati's death, Shiva's ganas began to wreck the sacrificial rite. Seeing the yajna being destroyed, the sage Bhrigu performed a protective ritual.
