The gods return briefly to their abodes, while Earth finds rest. Then Brahma's command is fulfilled without delay. Celestial powers take birth as forest dwellers of immeasurable strength and glory.
Mountains, trees, and claws will serve as their weapons. Brave and wise, they fill ranges and forests in organized hosts, fierce formations waiting upon the path of Hari before the human Lord has appeared.
Shiva turns the narration toward Ayodhya. There reigns Dasharatha, jewel of Raghu's lineage, praised in the Vedas. He upholds dharma, holds virtue and wisdom like treasure, and carries devotion to the lotus eyed Lord within his heart.
Vanara armies wait among the mountains while Dasharatha worships in Ayodhya.
Read the passage from the Manas
All the gods departed, each to his own abode, and the Earth at last found peace of mind. Whatever command Brahma had given, every god joyfully bowed his head and obeyed.
