Shiva understands the longing and would be pleased by her happiness. But the missing invitation is not an oversight. Daksha has called his other daughters and deliberately forgotten Sati because of the old resentment born in Brahma's assembly.
One may visit a friend, master, father, or Guru without formal invitation when affection is secure. Where hostility and disrespect have already taken root, the same journey destroys dignity and brings no good. Shiva lays out the danger without anger, trying in many ways to turn her from it.
Fate has gathered too strongly around the moment. Counsel does not enter Sati's heart. Mahesh finally permits her to go, though his judgment remains clear: leaving uninvited for this house is not good. He does not command her will, but neither does he disguise the threshold awaiting her.
Shiva grants the journey while seeing the closed door at its end.

कहेहु नीक मोरेहुँ मन भावा। यह अनुचित नहिं नेवत पठावा।। दच्छ सकल निज सुता बोलाई। हमरें बयर तुम्हउ बिसराई।। ब्रह्मसभाँ हम सन दुखु माना। तेहि तें अजहुँ करहिं अपमाना।। जौं बिनु बोलें जाहु भवानी। रहइ न सीलु सनेहु न कानी।। जदपि मित्र प्रभु पितु गुर गेहा। जाइअ बिनु बोलेहुँ न सँदेहा।। तदपि बिरोध मान जहँ कोई। तहाँ गएँ कल्यानु न होई।। भाँति अनेक संभु समुझावा। भावी बस न ग्यानु उर आवा।। कह प्रभु जाहु जो बिनहिं बोलाएँ। नहिं भलि बात हमारे भाएँ।।
Shiva replied, "You speak well, and my heart too would be pleased. But this is improper: he has not sent us an invitation. Daksha has called all his other daughters to the yajna, but in his enmity toward me, he has forgotten you."
