Sita names mother, father, siblings, friends, parents in law, guru, companions, children, wealth, home, city, and kingdom. Every bond is precious, yet separation from one's beloved makes the whole circle burn.
Pleasures become diseases, ornaments become burdens, and worldly splendour resembles Yama's torment. Body without life and river without water reveal how Sita understands existence apart from Ram.
All happiness lies in his company and in beholding his face like the pure autumn moon. She does not reject family or world; she reveals the living centre through which every other love receives warmth and meaning.
Without Ram, every ornament weighs upon Sita; beside him, the whole world recovers its life.

Mother, father, beloved sister and brother, dear family and the whole circle of friends. Mother-in-law, father-in-law, guru, companions and helpers, beautiful, virtuous, joy-giving children. All the bonds of love and kinship that exist, O Lord: without the beloved, they burn a woman more fiercely than the sun. Body, wealth, home, land, city and kingdom: without a husband, all of it becomes a gathering of sorrows. Pleasures turn into diseases, ornaments become burdens, and the world becomes like the torments of Yama (death). O Lord of my life, without You in this world, nothing anywhere gives me happiness. As a body without life, as a river without water: so, O Lord, is a woman without her husband. O Lord, all happiness lies in Your company, in gazing upon Your face, radiant as the pure autumn moon.
