अवधि आजु किधौं औरो दिन ह्वैहै। चढ़ि धौरहर बिलोकि दखिन दिसि, बूझ धौं पथिक कहाँते आये वै हैं॥ १ ॥ बहुरि बिचारि हारि हिय सोचति, पुलकि गात लागे लोचन च्वैहैं। निज बासरनि बरष पुरवैगो बिधि, मेरे तहँ करम कठिन कृत क्रैहैं॥ २ ॥ बन रघुबीर, मातु गृह जीवति, निलज प्रान सुनि सुनि सुख स्वैहैं। तुलसिदास मो-सो कठोर-चित कुलिस सालभंजनि को ह्वैहैं॥ ३ ॥
