Smiling within his heart, the Lord said to Hanumān, “From what can be inferred, Vibhīṣaṇa appears wise, saintly, pure, and a true friend.” (1) The monkey replied to the Ocean of Compassion, “I am devoted to you—who else could know? No deceiver can remain before the Master, just as darkness cannot remain before the sun whose chariot has seven horses. (2) Whether false or true, a frightened man should be protected with affection and honor.” Tulsī says: whatever course the Lord considers best, let him determine it together with his bow and arrows. (3)
