सुनि मैं सखि! मंगल चाह सुहाई। सुभ पत्रिका निषादराजकी आजु भरत पहँ आई॥ १ ॥ कुँवर सो कुसल-छेम अलि! तेहि पल कुलगुर कहँ पहुँचाई। गुर कृपालु सप्रेम पुर घर घर सादर सबहि सुनाई॥ २ ॥ बंधि बिराध, सुर-साधु सुखी करि, ऋषि-सिरिष-आसिष पाई। कुंभज-सिष्य समेत संग सिय, मुदित चले दोउ भाई॥ ३ ॥ बीच बिंध्य रेवा सुपास थल बसें हैं परन-गृह छाई। पंथ-कथा रघुनाथ पथिककी तुलसिदास सुनि गाई॥ ४ ॥
Friend, I have heard a lovely and auspicious report: today a favorable letter from the Niṣāda king reached Bharata. (1) The princes are safe and well, friend. At once he sent the letter to the family preceptor, and the compassionate guru lovingly had it read with honor to every household in the city. (2) After slaying Virādha, gladdening gods and holy people, and receiving the sages’ blessings, the two brothers journeyed happily with Sītā and the disciple of the Pot-born sage. (3) They now dwell at a pleasant place between the Vindhyas and the Revā, beneath a shelter of leaves. Tulsīdāsa heard and sang this traveler’s account of Raghunātha’s road. (4)
