Śaṅkara, Hanumān, Lakṣmaṇa, and Bharata know devotion to Rāma. It is easy to describe, impossible to perform, and sweet to hear. (1) All desire it, only the rare person obtains it, and age after age it shines throughout the world. It never sways or steps aside from the path of love for Rāma. (2) Without it, accomplishment, prosperity, and the four blessed destinies are no true destination at all. Tulsī says that unless one stands face-to-face with that devotion, the deceiver of sense-objects continues to deceive. (3)
