ताते हौं देत न दूषन तोहू। रामबिरोधी उर कठोरतें प्रगट कियो है बिधि मोहू॥ १ ॥ सुंदर सुखद सुसील सुधानिधि, जरनि जाइ जिहि जोए। बिष-बारुनी-बंधु कहियत बिधु! नातो मिटत न धोए॥ २ ॥ होते जौ न सुजान-सिरोमनि राम सबके मन माहीं। तौ तोरी करतूति, मातु! सुनि प्रीति-प्रतीति कहा हीं?॥ ३ ॥ मृदु मंजुल सींची-सनेह सुचि सुनत भरत-बर-बानी। तुलसी ‘साधु-साधु’ सुर-नर-मुनि कहत प्रेम पहिचानी॥ ४ ॥
Therefore I do not blame even you: fate brought me forth from a heart hardened against Rāma. (1) Beautiful, joy-giving, gentle, a treasury of nectar—at whose sight burning departs—yet the moon is called brother to poison and Varuṇī; kinship cannot be washed away. (2) Had Rāma, crown of the wise, not dwelt within every heart, then, mother, on hearing your deed, how could he have known my love and trust? (3) Hearing Bharata’s excellent words—soft, lovely, pure, and steeped in affection—gods, humans, and sages recognized his love and cried, ‘Blessed! Blessed!’ (4)
