Ever since the two brothers came, The beauty of Citrakūṭa’s forest has grown greater and greater day by day. (1) The lovely earth, imprinted by the feet of Sītā, Rāma, and Lakṣmaṇa, cannot be described; Bathing in and beholding the Mandākinī destroys the three kinds of sin and the threefold affliction. (2) Water- and land-born plants that had withered have turned green, and the lotuses are ever fresh and lovely; Trees and vines bloom, bear fruit, put forth leaves, and flourish, granting every desired delight. (3) Rivers and ponds are crowded with lotuses, as though Lakṣmī had adorned and occupied her home; Birds call and bees hum sweetly, as if summoning travelers on their way. (4) The threefold breeze blows amid waters and cascading falls, while sages have built cottages here and there; Upon cool and lovely stones, ascetics set their minds on yoga, recitation, and austerity. (5) All the Kirāta men and women have become holy; the sight of Rāma has erased their impurity. Birds and beasts happily roam together, abandoning their innate and bitter enmity. (6) The poet is ashamed to offer even Kāma’s pleasure garden or the celestial groves as lesser comparisons; It seems the Creator gathered the beauty of every world and installed it in Rāma’s forest. (7) Using the forest as their occasion, sages, sages’ wives, and their children proclaim Raghubara’s stainless greatness; Their bodies thrill and grow faint, their lovely eyes fill with tears, and their joyful hearts attain the fruit of life. (8) How can I describe the wealth, glory, joy, and charm of Mount Citrakūṭa? Tulsī says Lakṣmaṇa, Rāma, and Sītā—the very limit of bliss—dwell there, having forgotten Ayodhyā. (9)
