सखि! जबतें सीतासमेत देखे दोउ भाई। तबतें परै न कल, कछु न सोहाई॥ १ ॥ नखसिख नीके, नीके निरखि निकाई। तन-सुधि गई, मन अनत न जाई॥ २ ॥ हेरनि-हँसनि हिय लिये हैं चोराई। पावन-प्रेम-बिबस भई हौं पराई॥ ३ ॥ कैसे पितु-मातु प्रिय परिजन-भाई। जीवत जीवके जीवन बनहि पठाई॥ ४ ॥ समउ सो चित करि हित अधिकाई। प्रीति ग्रामबधुनकी तुलसिहु गाई॥ ५ ॥
Friend, ever since I beheld the two brothers together with Sītā, I have found no peace, and nothing else delights me. (1) They are beautiful from head to foot; gazing deeply upon their beauty, I lost awareness of the body, and my mind will go nowhere else. (2) Their glances and smiles have stolen my heart; Overpowered by holy love, I have become a stranger even to myself. (3) What sort of parents, beloved relatives, and brothers Could send into the forest the very life of all who live? (4) Remembering that moment, love grows greater within the heart; Tulsī too has sung the village women’s love. (5)
