Friend, they must be princes of some royal house. These two abodes of virtue and beauty walk the road upon tender lotus feet. (1) In front is the lotus-eyed, dark-bodied prince, whose beauty is measureless and boundless; Upon each of his limbs I would sacrifice hundreds of millions of Loves. (2) Behind him is the charming fair youth, noble of eye and face; A quiver fastened at his waist, arrows and bow in hand, he goes to remove the earth’s burden. (3) Between the pair shines a tender woman, adorned without adornment. Together they seem a necklace of sapphire, gold, and pearl worn by the earth. (4) Look upon them with eyes filled full; do not become distraught, but consider well: When will such beauty appear again? Where then will our eyes, bodies, homes, and this world be? (5) Hearing these loving words, Raghunātha—the essence of grace and joy—looked toward them with affection. Tulsīdāsa says the Lord stole every heart, and no one retained awareness even of the body. (6)
