Fair and dark, in the flower of youth, they carry their bows. Every limb is naturally lovely; their eyes defeat the lotus, and their faces put the moon to shame. (1) Quivers and fine ascetic cloth are fastened at their waists, and matted locks crown their heads. Their forms are charming, gentle, and tender; with no sandals on their feet, how can they travel this road? (2) A beautiful woman appears between the two and leaves me spellbound. They seem like Love with his beloved and his beloved companion, all dressed as sages, stealing every heart as they pass. (3) Hearing of them, people everywhere go out to see them, filled with affection. Tulsī says that, beholding the beauty of Rāma the traveler, the people on the road forget both home and work. (4)
