रहहु भवन हमरे कहे, कामिनि! सादर सासु-चरन सेवहु नित, जो तुम्हरे अति हित गृह-स्वामिनि॥ १ ॥ राजकुमारि! कठिन कंटक मग, क्यों चलिहौ मृदु पद गजगामिनि। दुसह बात, बरषा, हिम, आतप कैसे सहिही अगनित दिन जामिनि॥ २ ॥ हौं पुनि पितु-आज्ञा प्रमान करि ऐहौं बेगि सुनहु दुति-दामिनि। तुलसिदास प्रभु बिरह-बचन सुनि सहि न सकी, मुरछित भइ भामिनि॥ ३ ॥
Beloved, remain at home as I ask. Mistress of the household, always reverently serve your mother-in-law's feet; that will be greatly for your good. (1) Princess, the road is hard and full of thorns—how will you walk it with your tender feet and elephant's gait? How will you endure unbearable wind, rain, cold, and heat through countless days and nights? (2) Lightning-radiant one, hear me: I shall fulfill my father's command and return swiftly.
