सुजन सराहैं जो जनक बात कही है। रामहि सोहानी जानि, मुनिमनमानी सुनि, नीच महीपावली दहन बिनु दही है॥ १ ॥ कहैं गाधिनंदन मुदित रघुनंदनसों, नृपगति अगह, गिरा न जाति गही है। देखे-सुने भूपति अनेक झूठे झूठे नाम, साँचे तिरहुतिनाथ, साखि देति मही है॥ २ ॥ रागउ बिराग, भोग जोग जोगवत मन, जोगी जागबलिक प्रसाद सिद्धि लही है। ताते न तरनितें न सीरे सुधाकरहू तें, सहज समाधि निरुपाधि निरबही है॥ ३ ॥ ऐसेउ अगाध बोध रावरे सनेह-बस, बिकल बिलोकति, दुचितई सही है। कामधेनु-कृपा हुलसानी तुलसीस उर, पन-सिसु हेरि, मरजाद बाँधी रही है॥ ४ ॥
Good people praise the words Janaka spoke. Knowing them pleasing to Rāma and hearing that they pleased the sage, the line of base kings burned without any fire. (1) Gādhi's son joyfully said to Raghunandana: ‘The king's state is unfathomable; speech cannot grasp it. Many kings have been seen and heard of, but their names are all false; the lord of Tirhut alone is true, and the earth bears witness. (2) Even in attachment he is detached; amid enjoyment his mind is yoked to yoga. By the grace of the yogi Yājñavalkya he has gained perfection. He is neither heated by the sun nor cooled even by the moon, but sustains natural samādhi, free of every limiting condition. (3) Though possessed of such unfathomable knowledge, love for you makes him appear distressed, as if he had endured divided thought.’ The wish-cow of compassion surged within Tulsī's Lord's heart; seeing the vow's young calf, it remained tethered by propriety.
