May lovely Sītā obtain this handsome groom worthy of her— dark, charming, and the supreme ornament of beauty itself. He enchants even the mind of the mind; who could serve as his comparison? Beside him shines his younger brother, a prince who is an ocean of splendor. (1) Every limb is lovely: is he Love embodied, the fruit of the eyes, or the concentrated essence of Sītā's merit? His face shames the radiance of autumn's nectar-filled moon, and his broad reddish eyes are beautiful as fresh lotus petals. (2) If, even after seeing such a captivating form, Janaka's first resolve remains, one must know his heart's way to be devoid of love. Tulsī asks why no one counsels the king by saying, ‘Place your vow and the prince upon the two pans of love's balance.’ (3)
