एई राम-लषन जे मुनि-सँग आये हैं। चौतनी-चोलना काछे, सखि! सोहें आगे-पाछे, आछेहुते आछे, आछे आछे भाय भाये हैं॥ १ ॥ साँवरे गोरे सरीर, महाबाहु महाबीर, कटि तून तीर धरे, धनुष सुहाये हैं। देखत कोमल, कल, अतुल बिपुल बल, कौसिक कोदंड-कला कलित सिखाये हैं॥ २ ॥ इन्हहीं ताड़का मारी, गौतमकी तिय तारी, भारी भारी भूरि भट रन बिचलाये हैं। ऋषि मख रखवारे, दसरथके दुलारे, रंगभूमि पगु धारे, जनक बुलाये हैं॥ ३ ॥ इन्हके बिमल गुन गनत पुलकि तनु सतानंद-कौसिक नरेसहि सुनाये हैं। प्रभु पद मन दिये, सो समाज चित किये हुलसि हुलसि हिये तुलसिहुँ गाये हैं॥ ४ ॥
These are Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa, who came with the sage. Friend, wearing caps and tunics, they shine as they walk one before the other— better than the best, and pleasing to every good disposition. (1) Their bodies are dark and fair, their arms mighty, and they are great heroes; quivers and arrows rest at their waists, and bows adorn them. They look tender and lovely, yet possess matchless, immense strength; Kauśika has taught them the art of the bow with consummate skill. (2) It was they who slew Tāḍakā and delivered Gautama's wife, and who shook many a massive warrior in battle. Guardians of the sage's sacrifice and cherished sons of Daśaratha, they have set foot in the arena at Janaka's summons. (3) With thrilling bodies, Śatānanda and Kauśika recounted their stainless virtues to the king. Tulsī too fixed his mind upon the Lord's feet, held that assembly in his heart, and sang of them with a heart that surged and surged with joy. (4)
