Sītā worshiped Pārvatī with deep feeling, falling at her feet. Her lovely eyes filled with tears, her body slackened and thrilled; no words came, and her mind remained filled with love. (1) ‘I wish to tell my heart to you, the indwelling knower, Bhava's queen and sovereign lady. Mother, after all, I am only a girl.’ The compassionate image gave her a lovely garland and said, ‘Fulfill your heart's desire by choosing the groom you cherish.’ (2) ‘Having found the wish-granting tree that is Rāma, embrace him as a vine; satisfied and sustained in marriage and motherhood, you will spread, flower, and bear fruit. Then, Sītā, you will say that Mother spoke truly.’ Sītā grasped both her feet, and the Goddess placed a hand upon her head and raised her. (3) Delighted by the blessing, Sītā bowed her head again and again, then took leave of the Goddess, anxiously mindful of her mother. Her friends rejoiced that what she desired had come to pass; singing songs, they went to the palace, stealing the heart of Tulsī's Lord. (4)
