(2) Rejoicing and gaining the fruit of their eyes, the gods sing his virtues and gladly return to their realms. Rāma, the royal lord, sets foot toward the palace together with his company. (3) At the royal palace and in every house swells a tremendous tumult of auspicious joy. Beholding him, they rejoice and, forgetting their bodies, perform ārati and make offerings. (4) Each day Ayodhyā knows fresh auspiciousness and delight; its people prosper in every way. Tulsī says: equal to them are those to whom the Lord's deeds are dearer even than the Lord. (5)
