छोटिऐ धनुहियाँ, पनहियाँ पगनि छोटी, छोटिऐ कछौटी कटि, छोटिऐ तरकसी। लसत झँगूली झीनी, दामिनिकी छबि छीनी, सुंदर बदन, सिर पगिया जरकसी॥ १ ॥ बय-अनुहरत बिभूषन बिचित्र अंग, जोहे जिय आवति सनेह की सरक सी। मूरतिकी सूरति कही न परै तुलसी पै, जानै सोई जाके उर कसकै करक सी॥ २ ॥
A tiny bow in his hand, little shoes upon his feet, a little loincloth at his waist and a tiny quiver. A fine tunic shines, stealing lightning's splendor; his face is beautiful, and a gold-worked turban rests upon his head. (1) Wondrous ornaments suited to his age adorn his limbs; whoever beholds them feels a wave of affection enter the heart. Tulsī cannot tell the beauty of that form; only one in whose heart it aches like a pang can know it. (2)
