The fountain of joy plays in the courtyard, the lovely moon that delights the lily-bed of Raghu's line. (1) Bharata with Śatrughna and Lakṣmaṇa shine beside him; adorned with childhood ornaments, they captivate the mind. Their bodies gleam like the moons upon peacock feathers, as though beauty surged and spilled from every limb. (2) Little bells ring at their waists and anklets at their feet; bracelets shine upon their lotus-hands. Necklaces at their throats and tiger-claw charms look lovely; their lotus-eyes spring from the lake of Love. (3) Pendants and small curls shine upon their foreheads; two lovely little teeth gleam at a time. A charming dot of collyrium steals sages' minds—blessed be the lovely face of the child Mukunda! (4) Brightly patterned caps and wondrous little tunics—beholding them, the mother's delighted heart blossoms. Grasping a jeweled pillar, the child sways unsteadily and speaks sweet, indistinct, lisping words. (5) He crows, bends, and peeps at his reflections, giving supreme joy to father and mother. At the mere memory of that beauty the heart exults, and Tulsī sings, thrilled with love. (6)
