सुखनींद कहति आलि आइहौं। राम, लखन, रिपुदवन, भरत सिसु करि सब सुमुख सोआइहौं॥ १ ॥ रोवनि, धोवनि, अनखानि, अनरसनि, डिठि-मुठि निठुर नसाइहौं। हँसनि, खेलनि, किलकनि, आनंदनि भूपति-भवन बसाइहौं॥ २ ॥ गोद बिनोद-मोदमय मूरति हरषि हरषि हलराइहौं। तनु तिल तिल करि, बारि रामपर, लेहौं रोग बलाइहौं॥ ३ ॥ रानी-राउ सहित सुत परिजन निरखि नयन-फल पाइहौं। चारु चरित रघुबंस-तिलकके तहँ तुलसी मिलि गाइहौं॥ ४ ॥
Blissful Sleep says, “Friend, I shall come. I shall delight the child Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, the foe-subduer Śatrughna, and Bharata, and lull them all to sleep.” (1) I shall banish harshly all crying and wailing, anger and fretfulness, the evil eye and every baleful charm. I shall establish laughter, play, delighted cooing, and joy in the king's palace. (2) I shall gladly rock in my lap those embodiments of play and delight. Offering my body bit by bit to Rāma, I shall take upon myself his illnesses and afflictions. (3) Beholding queen and king together with their sons and household, I shall gain the fruit of my eyes. There, Tulsī says, I shall join them in singing the lovely deeds of the crest-jewel of Raghu's line. (4)
