the gem flashing upon his nose, and the sweetness resting upon his lips.

See the lovely fish-shaped earrings at his ears, and the clustered curls that weave their net.

His restless brows are the bow of Love, and his slanting glance rises like an arrow upon it.

He is adorned with lovely wedding jewels and yellow silk; guard your heart today, lest he steal it away.

O worshiper, recognize in him the very life of his own devotees; today he may be obtained merely by casting a loving glance.

Ghazal — Pada 88

How charmingly the heart-stealing wedding crown adorns the bridegrooms! With Sita as bride and Beloved, it has become the very crown of married blessedness.

Its graceful strands sway and entice; drops of beauty seem to gather and tremble within it.

Upon the lovely sapphire face, charming as a rain-laden cloud, its dangling strands flash like lightning.

It has become the instrument of love, the form of joyful delight; today the wedding crown casts a marvelous spell upon the bridegrooms.

The clever thief who came to steal all Mithila hides his beauty beneath the crown, then lets it spill forth again.

Beauty and sweetness walk together, halting the very steps of onlookers; the captivating crown enchants them all.

Wondrous is the shower of rasa upon the bridegrooms; even Love himself is robbed and left astonished by the wedding crown.
