The feet that the barber-woman washes are the feet Rama lets her wash; perfected sages yearn to obtain even the dust of those feet.
A wondrous garland of flowers adorns Rama’s breast; his sidelong glance is bliss itself, the very joy sought by sages. ॥14॥
As she cuts his nails, her tender emotion cannot be described; his body is as delicate as a ruby.
Coloring the nails with javaka, she gently touches his soft toes; most delicately she washes the Lord’s feet. ॥15॥
Everyone offers gifts in many ways, each according to her station; Tulsidas gives himself in sacrifice at the sight of Raghunayaka.
The king gives elephants, while the queens give necklaces; they bestow jewels and treasures by the thousands. ॥16॥
Load carts full of gifts and carry them to the barber-woman’s house; delight her household, while blessings resound.
Then they celebrate with great festivity, all sorrow cast away; may every person be happy and attain abundant joy. ॥17॥
The women of the inner palace shower affectionate ritual abuse; Ramalala grows bashful when he sees his mother.
Everyone mingles together in a gathering of playful rasa; the barber-woman’s heart overflows as she blends the fragrances. ॥18॥
The bridegroom’s mother rejoices when she sees it; she gives gifts beyond counting, pouring them down like a rain-filled cloud.
