Pada 308
Rama is the abode of delight, at once fair and dark—how beautifully the beloved has become the groom! Sparkle upon sparkle flashes from his captivating radiance. His blue and yellow splendor overturns every comparison with a forest cloud and lightning. He is the dwelling of beauty and joy, shaming millions of Kamas—O beloved!
Jewel upon jewel shines upon the wedding crown; his sweet image smiles. Lovely garments in beautiful colors adorn him, and the groom's face is fresh as spring. Pearl garlands hang upon him, with diamonds set everywhere—O Sita!
The beauty of this divine pair cannot be expressed. Janakanandini is a golden image in which a dark jewel has been set. Their beauty and names draw one wholly inward; even eight watches of the day are forgotten—O beloved!
The groom's face, lovely as Kama and captivating to the mind, casts its enchantment. His naturally graceful, curving glance showers arrows like a roaming archer. Every woman of Mithila has been utterly bewitched—O Sita!
Pada 309
Kaushika, great lord among sages, show us the sight of him; beloved of our hearts, dearest one, do not leave us. Walking onward, you redeemed Gautama's wife and beheld the city of Mithila. You broke the bow and married Vaidehi—wonder upon wonder, reaching even Brahma's realm! Do not break our friendship; do not bind yourself elsewhere—O beloved!
