“Whomever I resolve to protect has no killer; whomever I choose to uproot has no power that can establish them. If I conceive even a little happiness, joy, or welfare for that person, all thirty-three crores of gods become perpetual servants. In a moment I can make Brahma like a pauper and make a pauper into Brahma; I can make Shiva, Sanaka and the sages, and all the gods dance wherever I please.

“Karma, dharma, valor, steadfastness, yogic power, and cleverness; knowledge, meditation, realization, nobility, political wisdom, and skill— none of these can conquer me, even after millions of efforts. I am defeated by the loving soul; in that place I retain no power of my own.

“Therefore all of you are embodiments of love; Surati offers herself to you. Siddhi and all the princesses, you are dearer to me than life. I shall fulfill today every desire that dwells within your hearts. Preserving the honor of the world, darling, I shall never become separated from you. In every way I belong to you, and in every way you all belong to me. Truly, truly—this word of mine is truth; accept it, princesses.”

Dohā

Hearing Raghunandana’s words, the doors of concealment opened; love swelled within all the women, and their bodies could no longer contain it.

Gathering their composure, the excellent companions fold their lotus hands. Siddhi and all the princesses speak in exceedingly gentle voices: “Blessed is our fortune, Raghunandana; no one is greater than we. We were drowning in the ocean of worldly existence, but you have taken us by the arm and saved us.
