Stanza 22

Seeing the colors of his peacock crown, the moon itself grows faint; the bride’s blue sari looks lovely and delights the heart. The blue cloth deepens the dark one’s complexion, like a dense storm cloud in the month of Shravan. Darling Siya’s fair body flashes like lightning, while the Lord of Ayodhya seems a full monsoon moon. When the divine couple smile with their arms about one another, their sidelong glances cut the throats of hundreds of thousands. (22)

Stanza 23

My heart became absorbed in their lotus feet and lovely toenails; it traveled into the anklets and then caught upon the heels. (23)

Stanza 24

Dearer than emerald, her radiance flashes like a cloud; Rama beholds her and cannot lower his eyelids. Is she a serpent-princess, or Uma herself arisen? Raghava grows restless, unable to turn away. Merely seeing her makes the poison of love rise within the body. The lovely minds of yogis themselves fall beneath her sway; even the steadfast run about trying to recover their composure.
