and the radiance of pearls streams over the borders of his yellow shawl. Anklets adorn his feet, which glow crimson with lac; Nehalata’s heart yearns for those red soles.

Pada 306

O Raghubara, royal prince, look upon me with the slightest smile.

That moon-face makes the heart speak; that sweet smile is enchanting—O dark thief of hearts! Beloved, now accept my love; join your eyes with mine, for the anguish of separation keeps rising.

I have practiced no austerity or sacred discipline; I have simply taken refuge at your feet—Lord, now look toward me. Your grace alone can save me; there is no other remedy, O Bihari. With folded hands I make this plea.

Pada 307

O rasika Raghava, you who dwell in Lady Sita’s heart!

Beloved, do not wander forgetfully through these lanes; do not let your feet touch their dust. Having redeemed Gautama’s wife, Raghubara, do not seek to extend your fame here.

O renowned Lord whose foot-dust brings deliverance—my rasika Raghava!

Your sweet, nectar-filled words have become a vina that captivates the heart; their arrows pierce body and awareness, leaving no room even to speak.

You are skilled at snaring the mind—my rasika Raghava!

Love has taken hold, beloved, and bound me with its cord. Every limb is steeped in your color, and my eyes have become chakora birds.

Show me your moon-face—my rasika Raghava!

Since love for you arose, the garden of my life has awakened into fortune. Take away my body’s pain, beloved—you who know the secrets of my mind.

Knower of rasa, color, wisdom, and virtue—my rasika Raghava!
