Pada 198

Your glance has fastened itself upon my heart. From the moment you came from Ayodhya to Mithila, love awakened within me. You are the handsome, blessed dark bridegroom, steeped in the rasa of Sita's love. Jugalpriya's feeling for the divine pair awakens love within the hearts of connoisseurs.

Pada 199

My heart has fallen into the snare of your eyes. There is subjugating magic and sorcery in the way you look with a gentle smile. What can I say? Speech cannot contain it; your beauty has enclosed me within its circle. The eyes drink, yet the heart writhes beneath the sharp arrows of your sidelong glance. That dark form remains spread over me and does not depart, morning or evening. In every way I shall remain beneath Sita's refuge and close to Ramcharan.

Pada 200

Beloved, you bound a dagger upon your waist in a single instant. Among hundreds of thousands upon earth, no one can be seen whose grace equals yours. Recitation, austerity, restraint, yoga, samadhi, observances, and religion—none remains of use. Jewel of virtue, your intoxicating eyes have slain and reduced them all to dust.

Pada 201

Honeyed rasa fills your eyes. Cruel magician famed throughout the world—you have conquered every assembly. The moon's treasury of arts and the cloud's lightning flashed together in a single instant. Proud and discerning beloved, you give pain to everyone in the space of a moment. Through the melody of your smile, your incomparable form has entered my heart.
