Description of the Bridegroom's Beauty — Pada 194

Upon this beauty I offer countless splendid moons! Dark and fair, the two have received one another's radiance and shine as the source of their companions' joy. Smiling softly and speaking together, they seem to cast snares through their glances. The divine pair, connoisseurs of beauty and intoxicated with rasa, meet like a bee with lotus nectar. Janaka's daughter is the life and treasure of the dark prince; Raghunandan is hers.

Pada 195

Behold, friend, the colorful splendor of that turban! The women of Mithila stand astonished, their eyes filled with love. It shines upon the princes' heads as though it were the loveliest share of all good fortune. The crest-plume appears like an unprecedented bud in the garden of the wish-fulfilling tree. Upon the princes of Janaka it rises like the fluttering standard of wedded blessing.

Pada 196

Dear boy, let my eyes drink the cup of your beauty. From childhood onward I have remained attached to Sita, sheltered beneath Maithili's protection. Dasharatha's son, without you I shall neither go anywhere nor look upon anyone else. Now you have come to Lali's home; dear boy, together with her, make me blessed. I offer myself to the gracious gaze of the ever-youthful divine pair.

Pada 197

Rama, your gaze is filled with magic. Whomever it regards, it subdues and keeps beneath its spell, O beautiful dark bow-bearing Rama. Your curling locks frame and illumine your moonlike face; the hanging nose-jewel steals the mind. Without Mithila, Jugalpriya is like a fish trapped within a net.
