Yet that maiden is supremely extraordinary and is not ashamed even in the least. She does not delight in merely one man—she enchants all three worlds! Seeing her beauty from nail to crown, Kama himself becomes useless and bewildered. Mod says that the sophisticated women of Ayodhya go away transformed, turned altogether upside down.
Pada 126
You came, honored guest, and did exceedingly well; by good fortune you obtained beautiful Sita. The moment the beloved set foot in your city, your sanctifying fame spread through all three worlds. Through holy company you learned the highest essence and took Grandfather Vishvamitra along with you. All dangers ended when you broke the bow; attaining Sita, you became cool and peaceful. Seeing the disposition of Janaka's heart-enchanting daughter, you placed her hand within your own; Mod rejoices.
Pada 127
Sing plenty of gari for this charming, carefree darling! You would become father to ten daughters, yet you keep fixing your eyes upon this one. We shall feed you with thirty-six lovely dishes, serving each kind with affection. Do not be embarrassed by this beloved gari from your in-laws; listen to it again and again. You have only one sister, dear boy—tell us, to whom shall she be given? The sages make so many efforts to obtain your sister. Without Shanta they find no peace, not even for an instant. The whole world desires revered Shanta—why keep asking again and again? Give your sister here in Mithila; why send her anywhere else?
Pada 128
Do not take offense within your heart; listen to what I say, Raghunandan. This gari is the affectionate gift of your in-laws.
