How can I make you inspired or struck about this fact that God lives within you? God can be found. It's much more important than a million bricks of gold can be found, the best-looking life partner can be found, the most love which is possible in the human condition can be found. This is worldly love. Now, what else? Money, health of the body—the healthiest immortal body can be found. Much more important than any of that is that God can be found. But to find God, we must let go of ourselves. Not outwardly; you don't have to be outwardly spontaneous or outwardly rebellious, but inwardly you have to become a sadhu, unattached to anything the world has to offer.

You may have the best connections on the inside, therefore the best Master, the best spiritual Sangha, the best everything, the best practices, the best environment—everything, you see. But without getting over yourself, you cannot make it through. And that you have to do. And this work has to be done thought by thought. It has to be done.

So, thought by thought, you have to let go, especially when it seems like you are disconnected and you start to wonder what is going wrong. I'll tell you what is going on: you're buying your thought. You have to stop buying that thought. It's never anything else, you see. So the mind has this nature of trickery. It'll tell you, 'No, it is that life event. No, no, it is that pain in the body. No, no, it is the feelings that you're feeling right now. It is the anger or frustration, no, guilt or lust or something you're feeling right now which is causing all the trouble to you. And whoever is over the practical stuff, this world just keeps running and we just keep running after it. There's no end to that so-called practical stuff.
