That Which Is 'the Seeing' Is You - 9th April 2018

Ananta guides seekers to recognize that they are already the unchanging, attribute-less awareness. He asserts that bondage is merely a mental concept and invites everyone to stop pretending to be limited individuals.
My premise is that right now, in this very moment, you are free.
The mind only has one trick: to convince you that your existence is that of a limited individual.
You are the primal witness of all attributes, and that witness has never changed.

Guru Kripa Kevalam. I was the universe. Everyone, welcome to satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Ki Jai. So, what is the game we want to play this week? Shall we all pretend to be seekers again that come to satsang to find freedom, or is there another possibility? The possibility where there is no 'me' here now. The being that I have is all there is. Nothing to see, nothing to find, nowhere to go. No concept of freedom or bondage. If any bondage is naturally here without a notion of it or the concept of it, happy to deal with that. So, what is your original state before we can start the so-called journey to freedom? Are you free?
Right now.
My premise is that right now, in this very moment—and this moment is not a moment in time—just now, you are free. And you are all there is. Without using your mind, you show me some bondage. If you're able to say, 'Don't think about it,' what are you then? And if you don't think about it, you stop existing? It's hard when then I don't think that what happened, the thought was, and I also am here. My existence is me. As I've been saying, there is only one trick to the mind: it has to convince you that your existence is the existence of an individual, the existence of a limited one. Without the mind, without these muscles, without interpretation, you have no boundary. All that you have considered to be your boundary are the sensations within you. It is clear to you now in your seeing—maybe not what you are saying now—seeing, it is clear to you that everything that you have considered to be your boundary, the sensations, are the sensations within you, within your being. These sensations are when you are. They don't exist unless you are. Nothing is outside of you.
So, this is a very beautiful exercise. If you have to consider yourself to be something, you see some appearance, we consider that to be me. Who usually—our usual idea is what? Let's take this appearance and let's give that motion, meaning. Isn't that what we usually take? This body appearance and call that 'me.' So, instead of that, can we start by—yes, it's an experiment—why don't you consider everything that you perceive as 'me'? It is up to your consideration. And then don't stop at that. Consider even that space in which everything is appearing, because even that is perceived. And so then, that also is 'me.' So, we took everything that is perceived by any of our senses, and including our perception and the space in which all of that exists, we said that is 'me.' Now, is there anything left out of this? Or left out of this something? Nothing? What about that which perceives all of this? Did we include that yet? Everything that was perceived, we included: this body, that body, these fears, everything. What about that which perceives all of this? Where is that? Let me invite that one to the party also. What happened? Who is the witness of all of this? Is that 'me' who considered so many things to be me? And the mind also is another perception. What about that which perceives all of this? That which is the witness of all of this? Where is that? What is that from your experience, not from books?
My proposal to all of you is that that which is seen is you, but more importantly—and I will explain why more important—but more than that, that which sees is that which is the seeing, awareness, witness itself. Now, I said more importantly because that which is seen is already changing. Everything in this phenomenal level is always changing. But that which sees—and when I'm saying 'sees,' I'm not talking about sight—that which is aware, including sight, aware of sight, aware of hearing, aware of these. Now, this is the center reality. It is unchanging. The Self, Atma, is unchanging. The Absolute, Brahman, is unchanging. Did we come across something like that, or are we happy to just leave it as an idea, like a fancy notion? 'Okay, later it will become my experience.' Now, we're coming to very beautiful things. Beautiful because all that you perceive is changing, and everything you can see is changing. Does that mean that there is no hope to recognize the Self? Is it the Self that is unchanging and everything I perceive is changing? Is it possible to recognize this which is inconceivable? How many have lost me completely? Nobody? It was me? It was between whether good, though.

This recognition of that which is not perceivable, and yet it is recognized, is what satsang is about. One said to recognize in the waking state that which does not go to sleep. The recognition of the Self. This is your unchanging Self, that which is aware of all things, and yet it is not perceivable as a thing. Now, it can sound very complicated as I talk like this using a lot of jargon, but I have a simple question for you: Are you aware? Are you aware? Yes. You may have a headache, but you are aware of the headache. So, we know what a headache is, but what is aware? You see, there's two sides to this; there's a prefix and a suffix. 'I am aware of the headache.' The 'of'—we are all aware of. It could be headache, it could be bliss, it could be all these opposites in the spectrum. You see, 'I am aware of objects.' All this 'of,' we are aware of. You know what it is. What is on this side? Especially when these questions are asked, then it seems like the mind throws everything that it can at you because it wants to avoid this question as much as possible. And sometimes it can feel like the phenomenal world is collaborating with the mind. As Mooji says, the mind world is calling all its concerns, 'All come! This one is looking at the deepest reality. Let's try to see if we can play and stop this.' It can seem like that.
Now, you said when I asked this question, 'I get a headache.' So, let me translate that for you: 'I am aware of the headache.' So, I think we know—all of us have experienced it. What is this 'aware'? It's you. If this is you, is there nothing? If 'aware' is you, awareness is now, is there another you? Can't be. Or is? So, you can't make any inferences here because we've gotten into this seeming trouble or suffering only by making inferences. You infer the 'me' and there has been no 'you.' So, you know, in such a fine inference only in some—you said very beautifully, 'I am aware of the headache.' And then I said, 'What is this aware?' It is 'me,' which is quite a nice surprise for me that quickly you said like that. Now, I said, 'Okay, this awareness is you. Now, is there another one of you?' Whoosh! It's not an example, actually. Briefly, let's look at this question. I am that which is aware of all things, including a headache or not. Now, is there another one of you that is here? I spot another one? Do I see another? But your expression is that of a body. Oh, it's very good news. You see, what you're finding is very good news. You see, I am aware, and besides this awareness, I don't find another one of myself. You can find one that has a desire, that one that finds, wants freedom, for example. Where is that one? Produce it to me right now. I'll give you a thousand dollars. Where is that one? The one that wants freedom is where? Do you want freedom? What? He doesn't want? Awareness wants freedom? You see, I am aware of that which is aware. Does it want anything? Finance? There's so much of Maya. So, what was it? What to do? The logic—you allow it to come and go. You're aware of it. So, don't feel like anything is getting in the way. There is no obstacle. Obstacle means that I'm trying to get somewhere. I am asking you where you already are, but you're trying to get somewhere. So, let all logic come and go. I'm not against the intellect. I'm not against these. Are you making effort? Effort to be aware? Don't make any effort. It's like you're looking around the room. Is that naturally like you're looking around the room? I mean, people are there. If you give them this question, you just naturally found you. So much logic is coming in the middle. 'This is happening, that is happening.' That only comes because you feel like it's some final step or something. Forget about the final step. This is kindergarten, okay? Nothing special in this. We're just naturally doing an audit of what we are now. You are aware of all your forms. Nothing is getting in the way.
So, we're just saying, okay, let me ask you simple: What is the color of this awareness? What is the size? There's a thing when we know too much, it seems like it becomes trouble. It hits. So, the answer is, 'No, it's like that.' But we let it go and go and you see, okay, that which is aware of even this thing, mind, which is coming like that, what color does it have? What size? Or what time? Nothing is the opposition for you. If you're feeling that logic is an opposition to you, it is not. You are that which is without opposites, so you cannot oppose you. So, this—we don't need to do is actually what is aware? I am. This is the aware. Does it have any attribute? So, if this 'I' does not have any quality or attribute, and only qualities and attributes change with time, then can there be some change on this 'I'? That which is the primal witness of all attributes, has that ever changed in your experience?
So, now your job is: try and get rid of this. Because I know the natural impulse will be to hold on to this. Really, now I give you the opposite: Don't be aware. Hold on to awareness? No. Remain as anything at all? No. Don't abide as anything. Get rid of it. Tell me when you're done. Tough? Okay, try harder. It's tough? Is it possible? Stop it. Is it possible not to be aware? All of you, huh? I'll be looking at her, but all of you. Who? You always heard: 'Remain as awareness.' So, why is awareness now? I'm flipping it a bit today. Why do you want to abide? Why don't you try not to be aware? Do it. Okay, something special about today. That which you try to hold on to, this Self which is attributeless, when I say try and get rid of it, you can't. Why were you going to hold on to it? You couldn't lose it if you tried. Because otherwise, it would not be the Self. If we could lose it, what kind of Self would it be? So, all that changes—men, and they say 'remain as the Self' or 'abide as awareness'—it is that. Don't pick up the pretense of that which you are not. Don't pick up a notion about yourself which is not true. It's like saying this child has been taking you for a ride by selling you all these like that, but then actually won't think so. Go buy them this—the story it is telling you, this mind selling you a story about your limitation. It's not true. Deliberately to one who—nobody's ever been able to produce himself. This thousand-dollar thing I've been saying for four years. Only somebody else said, 'Father, nobody has claimed this prize yet.' It's been four years. Let's double it. I'm with you. I am willing to add another thousand to this. Please, who's been able to produce this limited one? We all could, but we are all trying to get rid of supposedly the truth. We cannot leave the false. You cannot find. But the seeker is trying to do what? It's a cosmic joke. What you already is, is all there is. Leave it. The truth. Lose yourself. Then I promise I'll help you find yourself. The seeker is supposed to be that one. I'm seeking yourself, the highest, unchanging. Something wrong? If it is the unchanging, let's be here already. Why? No chance of getting it. All this person, come on. Why then? Come with me. Oh, fire into their validity. Let them down. Let them go. Means and surrender it to a higher power. All my Father's problems. Say whatever you want, but this is about this. But what happened? Outside said some bad word. But if you have a little bit of 'me' element, give it. If it feels like you don't have, but it seems 'me' to see, to run, surrender and inquire: Who is the one who is not free? Who has that past or future? The same. Surrender or inquire. Well, in their fruit, the sense what you find about yourself is this motionless existence. Until 'I am something,' until the idea, 'I'm a seeker,' this one I could easily surrender in. Silly extreme. I was happy. Are you really? A great difficulty remembering what I said last time, but it sounds good. Would you say so? Seeker's gone. Seeker's gone. Now also, the false cannot survive this moment unless you bring it seemingly back to life with your belief. It never really comes back to life. And even the best news: there is no 'me' here.
The sense what you find about yourself is this motionless existence until 'I am something,' until 'to be.' Idea missed.
Glaston said, 'This one I could easily surrender in.' Silly extreme. I was happy. Are you really? A great difficulty remembering what I said last time, but it sounds good.
Would you say so? Seekers gone. Now also the thoughts cannot survive this moment unless you bring it seemingly back to life with your belief. It never really comes back to life. And even the best news: there is no 'me' here. There are no 'more' to hear. It is known and I'm tan. Ha ha! Where are they? I see one set of lips moving. I see one head parting. Both are mine. There is a meaningless whether the humans, both of receptionists, small moving on its own, hearing on each one. I witnessed all of this. I am not anymore. Sing nothing silly.
Well, for a little while, this tennis fight will go on. This will become a three-way conversation where it will feel like, oh, you're sitting in the view. From one side there exists words and one side there is the mind wall, and you're going, 'See, you're saying this. Oh, now I'm using this.' So you feel like that. I was in and out for some time, but that's okay. So you want to have that three-way conversation: me, you, and mind? Or we can just let the mind come and go for a bit? You don't want mind at all? This itself can also be a trick of the mind. Then the thoughts set you up for failure if you make that a benchmark—that no thought should ever come, 'I don't want mind at all.' Mind is one bundle of thoughts. I wanted to look for... so if you set yourself up like that, you will find that even the sweetest laptops, they come and go.
That's why I say, what is the difference between you and us here? The difference is that for you it might seem like this voice of the tormentor, so this here is... this voice is a stand-up comedian. To me, it's speaking nonsense which is funny. I mean, it's nonsense which is funny because it's saying that the Lord of the universe, which is you, is now some small or tape contained in this small object of the body. It's a bigot. Is he saying that this divine being wants freedom, wants money, wants relationship? So what to do with life with its little metal? Some entirely born want to get a tree with it because it's also your child in there. It is divine comedy.
I said the mind only has one trick: to convince God that it is a person. Right now you are God. And if you have trouble with the name, with the term God, take consciousness, beingness, whatever you buy. One being is what you are. The mind is telling you this will be your hoping. Hi guys, most good. If the first time I treated somebody first announced to be able to cry.
Aaron tells, 'Guruji, is everything happening or is the Self doing everything?'
It's the same thing. You can say that everything that is happening is the doing of the Self, but not moving in the way that we understand. Just like you can say that everything in the movie is the doing of the light of the projector. It is a play of appearances, these alluring images that are shining in your own light. In that way, you can say that consciousness, the Self, is the one who were in the one acts begins because the light and the screen of this movie by its very presence... when you are and you are, then the world of heroes. Your existence, your enemies as the light of the universe. Helium self science says that perception happens with me. They must be misunderstanding. The person seems to be a perfection.
The funny thing is that so you can have a dream night in which dream also you can have a dream body. And the dream body also, if the surgeon opens you, will find a brain in that. Which brain is the projector or the perceiver? It's best to you not over the knee second-hand inclusion put to the name with our inside because in this inside you'll find the unchanging reality, unchanging Self, just beyond all these kids of waking, dream. See all these you will see, but this company moon if you start to look at your life in this entirety instead of just looking at one aspect of it, which is one waking state. In this state, it can seem like that is a dream, and that state, that can seem like this is a dream. That's why does he do that step? Don't single out just one set of experiences. Look at the entirety of your experiences and see what has remained constant.
And you are asleep. Who are you? There is no body there. There is no world in the sense. I am it on there. And how are you aware of something called sleep? And you are dreaming. Who are you? You can occur one day. Austin Oscar would say, 'Lester, what I said monster, I'm so confused. I don't know whether I'm the king or the dream that I am the butterfly, why on the butterfly having this dream?'
That happening for some seems to be a contraction of consciousness.
Yes, you know, we can say like that. But even this, to say this, for example, if you started deleting the Q or cat of written language, and that disease is also an aspect of consciousness itself. But nothing really happened to consciousness because when we say in a contraction and things like this, they can be your idea that actually something happened to consciousness. Nothing has happened to your being. All the contraction-derived events, all receiving separation which is experience, is nothing but perception, sensation within you because you are. Your being is the manifest aspect of all there is before it is all that is manifest. So nothing is powerful enough to contract it. There is no power in the universe that can contract your being. And yet I know sometimes how this terminology is used because we might say, 'Yes, even this, the belief system, even the idea of personal is just an aspect of my consciousness.' In that way, he said be able to read a little bit for my handbag today.
What about them? We have a request from each other from not who saying, 'Can you read a bit from that video video by Nisargadatta Maharaj?' This one might be good because this over here, this is his number three doctor to me, slightly off session with the body. Well, the question of a doula not familiar with your book. It's the best books that is talking about what we are saying, that the Creator creates age. See, Mrs. Aldama, and this is your transcript source of satsang with him.
So it was like this. Let's not is asking, he says, 'Maharaj, you are sitting in front of me and I am here at your feet. What is the basic difference between us?' Maharaj says, 'There is no basic difference.' But in ourselves, still there must be some real difference. 'I come to you, you do not come to me.' Maharaj says, 'Because you might in differences, you go here and there in search of superior people.' Which measures you too are a superior person. 'You claim to know the real by the I do not.' Maharaj says, 'Did I ever tell you that you do not know and therefore you are inferior? Let those who invented such distinction move them. I do not claim to know what you do not. In fact, I know much less than usual.'
Spas here forbid these distinctions, the ceiling difference. Oh, you are the master, you are the enlightened one, I am the seeker, I come to you. You see that all of this, all is one appearance within your own being, and yet we are carving out various boundaries and saying, 'Oh, this one is a master, this one is the seeker, this one is Sangha.' But the sage is not making the inter station. The sage is aware that this is one being, its Lemke of all boundaries. Dislike it is your very it's because right now it is the same experience, is the same. The pink is nice example the other day we said: one sheet of paper, you can draw a map with various, various boundaries on it and people are willing to fight and kill for that. This most important. There's one piece of paper. If you say, 'No, no, this is my country, this is not your country, this land belongs to me on the map,' people are going to start fighting. This motional differences, you see the boundaries.
So in the same way, one consciousness, one will be here in which this multitude of singing appearances are coming. But this idea of 'me,' this boundary that 'this is me and that is really,' is not naturally present here. It is something that in call our conditioning. This conditioning comes from mind. There it is the so-called mind of the barons of society, this my here. So this might be a good place to insert some to be. What is how in your experience all this one, but how this money will come up with the rules and boundaries in Syria? Oh no, this is... this is where I end, this well another beginning. All just mostly as ideas.
You in your ultimate reality are not in this universe. You are not in this universe because the universe only contains objects, but you are not an object. Then you say, 'Then I see.' To you, look inside into your reality. Go inside and see your presence of being. In that moment, you are out of time and space. Actually, you are always out of time and space. In that moment, you are recognized that you are not in that instant. So satsang actually is a voyage out of this universe and it's so simple. Are you aware of your existence? That which is aware of its own existing to pain is not contained in this dimension world. All these four dimensions that contain spectrally spender minute was not really without a notion of 'me' and see what you fight about your position. You need this Mohammed tell me a little bit and see what you are, where you are. Thank you all so much for coming to satsang today. Satguru Sri Mooji Baba Ki Jai.
