God is not a concept

You must have heard teachers say that we must find out who we are, but we cannot find out who we are using conceptual knowledge. So like what is the capital of Texas, I am presuming it's Austin, but how do I know that? I have never been to Texas, I know that because I have the concept of it, I have like a conceptual knowledge that the capital of Texas is Austin, but the knowledge of God is not available through conceptual knowledge, like if you just know that he lives in my heart, that is not the knowledge of the Atma Gyan, that Gyan part is unique in its way, it's unique, it's a different type of knowledge, it's not perceivable, like how do I know there are five fingers because I perceive the five fingers, so it's not perceivable knowledge like that, nor is it just conceptual knowledge, like what is the capital of this country, which city are we living in, all of these things are conceptual. So now 99 % of people in spirituality are trying to understand spirituality conceptually. So it's like one movie I saw where this man is constantly saying, you know, he's got this British hangover, so he's constantly saying, have you been to this part of London, have you been to Piccadilly Circus have you been like that? Then close to the end of the movie a friend asks him, so when did you go to London last? And this man says, I haven't yet had the pleasure. So he's not really been there. So he's not talking authoritatively about it, he's just talking from bookish knowledge. So most people in spirituality unfortunately are talking just from bookish knowledge or what they think they've understood or what their mind is telling them in terms of thoughts about what is spirituality. But spirituality means to meet the spirit, to meet the Atma. And very few people are actually speaking from the meeting with the Atma itself. So they haven't really met God, God has just become a topic of conversation without meeting. So it's like, you're speaking a lot about, say, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, but they haven't seen him back, they haven't actually met him, they know nothing about him, but they just read some newspaper reports about him, but they're speaking authoritatively about Vaibhav Suryavanshi. So in satsang what we attempt to do is not speak just conceptually or from ideas. We are trying to speak from true insight. So traditionally, a guru is one who has had that insight, has had that Atma Dhyan, has had that Atma Darshan. So traditionally that's what has given them the authority to share with others.
