You Just Have to See What You Are
You are already the awareness you seek - simply recognize and see what you truly are without trying to become something else.
You Are Aware of All These Perceptions [Reading from the chat] Then you say again ‘But something feels lacking in my Seeing, I can’t figure it out, help.’ Yes, so even this idea that ‘something is lacking’ - there could be some emotion about it, there could be this cry for help happening… all these feelings may be happening. Just notice that you are aware of all of these perceptions. It is you that is Aware. This ‘you’ has no shape, it has no size, it has no color. Is not being shaken or dented or starched by anything that may be appearing or not appearing. Yet, It is not separate from any of that. Don’t try to understand these words just see. So as you see this, drop all expectations of what It must mean. Drop all ideas about what It must look like when you are truly Seeing. Now this is the point I want to make which is really important. You are able to make a statement like this that ‘something is missing in my Seeing’ only because you have an idea of what the ‘not missing’ would have been. Otherwise how are you able to say that ‘something is missing’? Your mind may protest, it will say ‘No, no, I have no idea. I just know something.’ That is the voice of frustration that I hear sometimes (often actually) in Satsang.
Key Teachings
- The truth of who you are is already present and available - you don't need to achieve or become anything, only see what is already here
- Consciousness itself is what you are looking for, and it can be recognized directly through simple attention
- The practice is not about concentration or changing the mind, but about noticing the aware presence that is always here
