Ananta guides seekers to turn attention back to the aware presence that knows their being, recognizing that awareness itself is the knower, not the object known.

Who is Aware of your Being? And if the term ‘Being’ is not clear to anyone, you can ask me and we can elaborate on that. The question is ‘Who is Aware of your Being, of your Existence, of the sense ‘I am’? [Silence] And you ask yourself this but remain independent of any thought, any concept and remain independent of any perception. Independent means let them come if they have to, let them go if they have to, it has nothing to do with your inquiry and be especially independent of all expectations. Who is Aware of your Being? Don’t be concerned about any thought. Don’t anchor after any experience. Don’t try to see something and don’t expect anything at all. [Silence] This recognition will be what we call an ‘intuitive insight’ - it will not be conceptual, it will not be something that you see or hear or taste. [Meditative Silence] If the sense of Being is not clear to some of you don’t try to find it. Try to stop Being - don’t be for a moment. You will notice a presence, your own presence, an existence and you are Aware of this. But this ‘you’ this ‘I’ that is Aware, who is that ‘I’? Who is Aware of your Being? If your thoughts are saying, if your mind is saying, ‘Awareness or Self’ forget about it. Let it come and go, it's okay. You are not looking for a conceptual answer. It can come, you are not resisting anything. But don’t get attached, don’t become too concerned with any terminology that you have heard. [Meditative Silence] And whatever you may be perceiving, don’t attach yourself to any perception. Let them all come and go, it has nothing to do with your intuitive-insight. Whatever conclusions you may be making, just let them go. Remain unattached to any state which may be arising, all states come and go; any experience, any perception, remain independent of it. Who is Aware of your presence? [Meditative Silence] Don’t expect anything from your intuitive insight. This intuitive insight about ‘Who is Aware of your existence?’ is the Truth, is Reality, is Self- Knowledge, Brahma-Vidya, Atma-Gyan. And as long as you don’t try to think about it… and don’t chase any experience…It is always available. It is what you are. [Silence] And even in thoughts and perceptions, only ‘This’ is. But it seems to be cloudy or blurred. That which is Aware of your Being, your presence…is the Self and it is Self-knowledge. They are not two. The Self is Self-knowledge. Brahma-Vidya is Brahman.
