Inves#gate Who should be helped in Coming to Satsang
True satsang points not to becoming something new but to recognizing the awareness and being that you already are, received through grace by those whose hearts genuinely seek freedom.
Like an example could be my pointing about ‘open’ – just remain open. (so, what is happening is that) There comes a particular point where we have to open up more than the idea of being open also. So, there can be this feeling that ‘this use to help me so much but now even this is not really helping or working’. And that is good because actually if I go to most people in the world and I say ‘just don’t resist, be a little open’, they will find some peace coming naturally. If they are able to just allow things to go a bit will find some spaciousness even in that worldly mode. If somebody says I am not so interested in Satsang, I don’t understand what you say, I don’t know what you are talking about, can you just help me get some more peace. I will say, ‘Okay, just allow yourself to remain as open as possible.’ And knowing fully well that mostly this one is going to try and do it personally as if they are something and even in that, in the worldly play they may experience some peace, some more peace will come because they are not so mind oriented anymore. But, after a while even the instruction that ‘I must remain open’ will become the closing. We must become open beyond open at that point. At that point we are no longer even trying to be open because that is the reference. So, in our heart we know whether we are ready for that. So, if we feel like something is helping it is good but it is also good to investigate ‘Who are we looking for help for?’ Who are we looking for help for? Who should be helped coming to Satsang? Because many times that is the trickster itself in disguise and that will keep changing its colors and say ‘Now I need help in this way, now I need help in this way, now this is happening, this is happening’ and it can use all the spiritual pointings for the objective purpose of trying to help the ‘me.’ A pointing like this ‘What do you find with no mind’ should not leave someone who is being helped by it actually. Because, without the mind there is not anybody being helped by it. Just see how it is playing out and all of you will use it in different ways. When we are empty of all references - who is helping and who is helped?
