I’m Simply Saying Don’t Bother With Any Of Your Thoughts
Ananta directs seekers to stop being troubled by thoughts and instead rest in the silent awareness that is always present beneath the mental noise.
If you say to me ‘I want to find what you have discovered’ then you have to let go of what you think…what you want from your thinking… what you desire from your perceptions. Otherwise, we can keep playing this game for lifetimes. Koramangala [An area in Banglore] is to the left, you keep walking to the right. You say ‘Why am I not getting it? But I am so devoted to you. [Smile] What is missing in my devotion?’ Only that you are not following what I am saying. [Laughs] You may love me completely in your heart but you have to also follow what you are hearing. You are just saying ‘I am so devoted to you, so what if I am still doing it my way?’ [Smiles] This is the thing. This is very, very simple what I am saying. But what will the mind offer you? Upon hearing this also it will not want you to follow what I am saying. It is just going to say ‘See you are so unworthy, you are so, you are just not a good disciple.’ All this traffic will go on. I am simply saying ‘Don’t bother with any of your thoughts’. So for someone to be a good disciple that is primary, everything else is secondary. If you don’t, if you take care of me, if you are very, very helpful ,all of those things are secondary. Primary is that are you following what I am saying? At least not even following in terms of what I am telling you to do but at least following in the sense of don’t do what I am saying don’t do even that much. That is primary, the rest is all auxiliary, and the rest is all time-bound it doesn’t really matter so much. Because to go beyond this Maya, is mostly to not to get trapped in your head. But if you make me a character in your head it’s really not going to help. If you create a relationship with that character which is just in your head and you are not following what is being said in Satsang then it’s just a new relationship with your mind.
