God-Directed Life: True Surrender
True surrender involves allowing God to direct every aspect of one's life, recognizing that all events are already by His will, thus rendering fears about surrender unfounded.
I used to say long back that we must learn to live a God-directed life, not a God-assisted one. Everybody wants a God-assisted life, but true surrender is a God-directed life. Is He the director of your movement? Is He the director of your intention? Is He the director of your focus? If you allow Him to direct your life, then it takes a completely different quality. While it may seem like you continue to live on this planet, you're actually no longer living here. You just allow Him to move you. And all the fear about that surrender is completely unfounded. What stops us from surrendering? Because we have a fear that He may not do it my way. So I may lose my money, I may lose my relationship, I may lose my body. All of that is completely unfounded because all of that happens and comes by His will alone anyway. Every moment of our life, every heartbeat that we have is because of His will. And we are scared to hand over our life to that. This is the strangeness of this thing.
