Follow God's Will at all Costs
True freedom comes from completely surrendering to divine will, releasing personal desires and trusting in a higher order that transcends egoic understanding.
So, basically it boils down to two things: First is, have you found God truly in your Heart. And second is, are you unwaverlingly living in God's light. Or is the discoveryof God just another mechanism for us to have things our way, is it a way for us to win in this life? Is spirituality in service to me, or whatever is left of me is now in service to God? Is spirituality therefore then self-serving or self-sacrificing? We live in a world, in a humanity where everything is meant to be self-serving and therefore selfish. And therefore our idea of spirituality has also been distorted to such an extent that it is meant to help 'me'. But true spirituality is God at all costs, God for God's sake, Truth at all costs, Truth for Truth's sake. So, right at the beginning let's examine for ourselves, what am I doing here, what are we doing here? And if the idea is, okay now, what's happening to me because of what I'm hearing, is my life better, am I feeling relief from stress, then there are thousands of other ways to do that. We don't need to come to Satsang for that. But if I really want the Truth independent of the concepts I may have about Truth, if I want the Truth that my Heart speaks, that my intuition brings to life, then this is the place for that. So, independent of questions about doership and choice, all of that, first we need to make this decision. Am I in Satsang, am I in spirituality so that I can achieve some phenomenal, objective goals, or is there an unexplainable love in my Heart for that which I call Truth or God or Self, is there an inexplainable call in my Heart which I have no option but to answer? Already coming to Satsang is an act of faith. Already coming to Satsang is an act of faith because you have no rational reason to be here. And if you did come and if it's your first time or something like that, very soon all that will be blown up. So you have no rational reason to be here at various times in the world, in different time zones, no actual rational reason why you collect, why we collect here. So your coming here itself is a following of the call of your Heart, and that following of the call of your Heart is an act of faith. So, coming to Satsang is a change, the most important change that we can make in life, because external changes, you can change your house, you can change your furniture, you may even change your partner, you do some surgery and change how your body looks, all this external change is easier to do. But to change from the inside and not just in terms of the character of your thoughts or the type of emotions that you're experiencing, not just this change, but the entire system, operating system as I've been calling it, needs to change and is changing. We have been operating from our heads, from our minds. And now we can only operate from our Hearts. And this Heart is the most confusing thing for the head because, is it emotions? No. Is it like a worldly love? No, not even a worldly love. It's a deeper love sitting in the Heart, it's your spiritual center, it's actually where God lives. It's where God lives and the apparent Me can meet God. It is the only place where God can be met. That is the Heart. So, to live clinging to the tieart is to live a life clinging to your Heart. Then our life becomes like a child playing in God's house which is the only stable foundation, the only way to live a stable life, a true life. If you live your life on any other basis, which is on the basis of what the external world is telling you, on the basis of what therefore your senses are telling you, your thoughts are telling you, your emotions are telling you, it is bound to be a very unstable life, a lack of any steadiness and foundation. The only way to lead a true life is to lead it in connection with God. Now the thing about connection with God is that there is not space for two here. There is only space for God here. When there is only space for God then you connect with God. If there is a Me trying to connect, it's not gonna happen. Those who are sincerely listening, are you getting a sense of what the project is, a sense what we are trying to do in Satsang? So, this is important. So, first clarification about what all of this is, is important. Otherwise many times we continue to be in a self-serving mode trying to come to the intuitive insight or to the way of faith and then constantly checking, 'how is this helping me?', which is not the intention at all. So, all those who are in this to meet the Truth, and independent of what other benefits I may get in my life, will have a very straightforward time in Satsang. Those who try to hold on to some selfishness personal desire, many times it will seem like you're getting squeezed. And if that happens, welcome that squeezing also because I've been saying, only the false can be burnt. So, there is burning happening and you want the Truth, then let the false be burnt. Presuming that all of you are still here in this project together with me, we have decided that our life will be full of God, it will be full of Truth independent of whatever may happen to us personally. That's the first deal. Independent of what thoughts, emotions, life circumstances, bodily circumstances we are in this, and we are in this for the Truth, and we are in this for God. If there is any doubt about this, you can come up. Or if you are completely clear that you don't want this, you just wanted something personally, there's always the exit option in Zoom. But unless we get clarification that this is what we are collectively embarking on, then all of us will keep walking in different directions and all of us will end up confusing each other. That is the extent of what is going to happen. So, this is very important. If I can say, if you can say in your Heart even though you may wobble and doubt a bit, it's okay, but predominantly in your Heart you're done with the person, you want God, you're done with the lies, you want Truth. Even if that means everything personal that you desire will not be attained and even if that means that that which we are most averse to facing in the world of phenomena, that shows up. At all costs. Are we in this at all costs? Because I don't want o spend time on an armchair, lipservice, airy-fairy type of spirituality. To live in this deep connection with God and therefore oneness with God, the trickiest sacrifice – I won't say most difficult – but the trickiest sacrifice is the sacrifice of our individual will. And the question really is quite sraightforward: What do you want? What is it that you want? And you can ask this question at any point, even in Satsang. What do you want? And you have to come to a point where you don't want what you want, and I will tell you how. The first 'How' is, if you are able to identify what you want, then the mind will tell you, you must do the opposite of this. But that's not what I'm saying at all. So suppose that what you want is to be noticed by Ananta and the Sangha, or noticed that you're doing so well, or noticed that you're so upset, or noticed whatever. Shine that in your light. And for many of you just to say 'Let it go' is good enough, but for many of you, you will find it difficult to let it go unless some replacement is given to you: I don't want that, now I want this. So find out in your Heart what God wants. And this instruction is for life. This instruction is for life, I'll tell you how to follow it throughout your life. So, only two options now: You let go of your mental idea about what you want, your individual will, and you came to a point where you want to follow God's journey. There are only two options. One is that to find out (or it's apparent to you) what God's will is, or the second option is that there is silence, isn't it. If you're not following me, tell me. The first option is that I went to God and God said something. Easy. The second option is that I went to God (and usually initially this will be the more predominant option) where you find that you went to God but it's not coming. You may say, I don't know how Ananta says all his words come from the Heart, because when I go to the Heart there is only silence. This silence is very beautiful, it's very auspicious, because in the silence, notice and tell me if it is true, God's light is palpable. Just in the turning away from our heads the light of our presence, the light of our Satguru presence, the light of our tieart is palpable. In the light of God's will, in the light of God's light whatever unfolds is also in God's name and if there is some guidance which becomes apparent and can be conceptualized, that will be made available to you as well. The exchange for your individual will with God's will is the true surrender. And it is not momentary because many times in Satsang it can become popular to surrender, Oh, I surrender to you Father, I surrender to you Guruji, I surrender to Arunachala, I surrender to everyone, and then within two minutes [clicks fingers] out, back in the way of the head. So, to live in the way of the Heart is to live in God's will, come what may. One child says, of course, and I appreciate this report, one says, Yes Father, but I am also scared. Yes, it can be scary and that's why, what is our deal? Our deal is 'at whatever costs'. And that deal will not make the fear go away, but it will keep you strong. The fear in fact is very important. Those who are not experiencing any fear at all either are fully open and empty or are not understanding the magnitude of my instruction, or may be even using Advaita.2 or some spiritual concept to not meet what I'm saying fully. Because what I'm telling you takes away any idea of stability from your life. What I'm telling you takes away all ideas of safety from your life, stability from your life because to change your operating system you need to cut out all the roots that the old operating system had. You can't have any of that software running to provide you safety, you have to completely switch over because nobody can predict what God is going to ask of you in the next instant. Nothing and nobody can predict what God is going to ask of you in the next instant, and do you love God and do you trust God that much that you can follow in spite of that, in spite of even the fear? It is absolutely right, and one child says, and yet this feels like the ultimate stability. That's absolutely right, but for a while it can seem unstable. You're actually coming to the truest foundation, that which you can always rely on. Do you have something like that right now? We don't have, in the human condition. We don't have something that we can always rely on. Our friends, our relatives, our loved ones, the world, our countries, anything, communities. Nothing [that we can always rely on]. We are switching over to an ultimate stability, but I don't want to emphasize that too much because that can become too much of a reassurance. Right now I want you to experience the fear and the discomfort instead of balming it or reassuring. So, what is the deal we are making, the second deal of the day? Our first deal is God at all costs, yes? Second deal is, you will be open to hear God's guidance, Satguru's guidance in your Heart and we will follow unwaveringly, no matter what it is. No matter what it is. And if there is something the mind uses as a message to say, what if God asks you for this you cannot do, then you have to shine our light on that question and say, what is the blind spot here, why is there a lack of trust, or what is this lack of trust that I have in the Supreme Intelligence that I would not follow if it was about this. And this can bring a lot of fear because this can be about our material comfort, it can be about our relationships, it can even be about our Satsang and our idea of God and freedom. So, this following God's will at all costs is what I'm calling the Way of Faith. Today's Satsang, if you noticed, it's coming out in the opposite way as the previous audio Satsang we shared where I first looked at the way of insight and then the way of faith. But today let's approach it from the other direction. So, now we are committed to only God at all costs and we've left our lives in the mind's version in a very unpredictable state. In a very unpredictable state because nobody can predict what God's will is.
