न आये सैंयाँ कौन सी चूक परी। यह प्रमोदबन मोद कहाँ गयो बिरह अनल में जरी॥ हैं सरजू सरि शीतल करनी सो गुन कहाँ धरी॥ युगलप्रिया अवधेश ललन बिनु बीतत कलप घरी॥

My Beloved has not come—what fault have I committed? Where has Pramodavana's joy gone? I burn in separation's fire. Sarayu is said to cool, but where has she hidden that virtue? Without Ayodhya's prince, every moment passes like an age for Yugalapriya.
