खेलत नै हरे न वारी लाल। श्रीसरयू परिखा मिलि आई पूरब कोट के नाल॥ मधुर मोरपंखी ता ऊपर बैठे युगल कृपाल॥ चँवर छत्र बिजनादि करहिं अलि छवि लखि होत निहाल॥ पूरब तट प्रमोदबन कुंज ते निरखहिं अलि छविजाल॥ आनि फँदे दृग मीन सबनि के युगलप्रिया सुविशाल॥
Fresh English translation
The Beloved Pair plays untiringly where Shri Sarayu meets the eastern fort's canal. The gracious Pair sits upon a lovely peacock-shaped boat while companions wave fly-whisks, parasols and fans and rejoice in the sight. From Pramodavana's eastern-bank bowers they watch the net of beauty. Yugalapriya says its vastness catches the fish of every eye.
