उमड़ि घुमड़ि घन बरसत बारी। श्रीमिथिलेशनंदनी प्रीतम भीजत बन प्रमोद द्रुम डारी॥ पीत बसन नीलांबर दोउ ओढ़ि खरे भये युगलबिहारी। मानहुँ घन दामिनि के भीतर चन्द्र चन्द्रिका सोभित न्यारी॥ कुंज कुंज सुधि पाय अलीगन भीजत आई निरखि बिहारी। चन्द्रकलाजू छत्र ओट किये महल पधारि सुधारि सँभारी। भीने बसन उतारि मोद भरे नवल बसन सिंगार सँवारी। युगलप्रिया निवारि तनमन समै भोग धरि आरति वारी॥

Clouds mass and pour. Mithila's daughter and her Beloved are drenched beneath Pramodavana's branches. Wearing yellow cloth and blue mantle, the Pair stands as if moon and moonlight shone within cloud and lightning. Hearing news in every bower, the companions run through the rain to see them. Chandrakala shelters them beneath a parasol and carefully leads them back to the palace. Wet clothes are removed and fresh garments and ornaments put on in delight. Yugalapriya restrains body and mind, presents the timely offering and waves the lamp.
