मोतिन महल तामें सरयू नहर लागी छूटत सुगंध ज्यों गुलाब की फुहारें री। नवल निकुंज बन्यौ पुंज गुलाबन की फूल्यौ है चतुर्दिशा लखत किनारे री॥ मखमली फरस लागी प्यारी पिया प्रेम पागी अलीगन रंग रँगी तानें ले उचारे री। बीना मृदंग उपंग आदि जंत्र बाजें युगलप्रिया रीझि रीझि तन मन धन वारे री॥
Fresh English translation
In the pearl palace a channel of Sarayu releases fragrant sprays like fountains of rosewater. A fresh bower rises amid masses of roses blooming on every side along the banks. Velvet covers the floor; Pyari is drunk on love for her Lord, and colour-filled companions launch melodic phrases. Vina, mridanga, upanga and other instruments sound. Again and again delighted, Yugalapriya offers body, mind and wealth.
