सैंयाँ जाने न पैहो डारो न मो पर रंग। श्रीमिथिलेश लली की अली सब आनि जुरी एक संग॥ सुनि संकुचाय रमाय दृगनहिं बोलत बचन उमंग। काह करेगी विपुल नारि लगि जावो हमारे अंग॥ कंठ लगाय भिजाय भिजे रंग चल्यौ परसपर जंग। युगलप्रिया यह फाग अनोखी लखि रतिपति मद भंग॥

Beloved, you will not understand—do not throw colour on me! All the companions of Mithila's princess have gathered together. Hearing this, the captivating Lord feigns shyness, then speaks with delighted eyes: 'What can the many women do? Come cling to my body.' They embrace and drench one another as the battle of colour begins. Seeing this extraordinary Phagu, Yugalapriya beholds even Love's pride broken.
