होरी खेलन आय सरजू तीर सिय रामलाल। श्याम गौर रंग रसिक रँगीले चलत सुघर सदुमंद चाल॥ महलन बनि ठनि सब आई कोरिन लिये गुलाल बाल। दोउ मिलि तान लेत उमंग सों बाजत बीन मृदंग ताल॥ देखि देखि यह सुख समाज बर युगलप्रिया अति भई निहाल॥

Siya and Ramalala come to play Holi on Sarayu's bank. Dark and fair, colourful rasikas, they walk with a graceful gentle gait. Every palace companion arrives adorned, carrying baskets of gulal. The two take up the melody together in delight as vina and mridanga mark the rhythm. Again and again beholding this joyful assembly, Yugalapriya is utterly fulfilled.
