कनकभवन मनिकुंज द्वार रंग धूम मची हो होरी आजु। चन्द्रकला बीना प्रवीन चन्द्रावती मृदंग टोरी॥ कमला विमला गानकलाजू रँगीली बनी सिया गोरी। तानपूरा कठतार चंग सारंगी रंग भरोरी॥ राजकुमार श्याम छैला नवनागर गुन गन कोरी। तान लेत प्यारी करतारी युगलप्रिया तृनतोरी॥

At the golden palace's jewelled bower-gate, Holi's coloured tumult rises today. Chandrakala is master of the vina and Chandravati strikes the mridanga. Kamala and Vimala sing; fair Siya becomes a colourful bride. Tanpura, clappers, chang and sarangi overflow with colour. The dark prince is a handsome young connoisseur, surrounded by virtues; Pyari takes the melodic line and keeps time. Yugalapriya stands with a blade of grass in surrender.
