खेलें श्रीसरयू तट रंगरँगीली फाग री। पुर चहुँओर प्रमोद बनी मणि कंचन भूमि बिभाग री॥ तिनमें पूरबदिशि मिथिला सम्बन्ध सदा अनुरागी। अति बिस्तार चौंक कल्पद्रुम रंग की चारि तड़ाग री॥ चारिशीला कमला विमलादिक चन्द्रकला गुन आगरी। लेति सुषमा लली लालन कर कुंकुम पिचका नागरी॥ गूँधी में ततसुख स्वसुखी सम्बन्ध दृढ़त पिय लाज री। जे यहि रीति प्रीति में हुलसत युगलप्रिया बड़भाग री॥
Fresh English translation
They play colourful Holi on Shri Sarayu's bank. All around the city, Pramodavana's divisions spread across jewelled golden ground. In its eastern quarter the bond with Mithila is eternally loving: a vast square with wish-trees and four pools of colour. Charushila, Kamala, Vimala, Chandrakala and the other treasuries of virtue take up graceful saffron syringes for Lali and her Beloved. Bound into delight in the other's joy, their relationship grows firm beneath the Beloved's modesty. Whoever thrills in this loving way is greatly fortunate, says Yugalapriya.
